Capacity is a very good guide of a football club's ability to generate revenue and, aside from the very few bank-rolled clubs at the top of the pyramid, revenue generation is a key determinant to success.

With this in mind, this table makes fascinating reading particularly if you look at where Withdean-era Albion ranked, and project where expanded-Amex-era Albion will sit.

The future is bright!

To have a shot at staying in the Premiership without financially crippling yourself you need a 30,000 + Stadium. We'll have that in a year and a bits time.

The thought of Brighton playing in a packed out 30,750 capacity Stadium against Man U, Liverpool etc makes me giddy. I'm absolutely certain we would resularly sell out a 30,750 Staduim in the PL. I realise it might not ever happen, and we could be playing in League One with attendances of ¬10,000 in a few years time but it would be fantastic if it ever did!!

I'm not sure how good a guide is with regard to revenue generation.

Palace, for example, play in a cow pat of a stadium that holds 3,500 more than ours - yet nothing like the number of proper money making facilities that we have. Albion have 2,000 corporate seats and have sold them all out. At Palace on the other hand, those 2,000 have all got in by paying £3.50 for their seat via Groupon.

So on capacity we're the 40th biggest ground in the country yet people still think we have some kind of automatic right to be in the Prem because of our ground! Great reality check! Even with the ground expansion we'd be lucky to make the Prem relegation zone!
