[Football] England's R16 Opponents - Confirmed as Slovakia

Below are the possible opponents for England if they progress to the round of 16.

If people are interested, I'll narrow it down periodically when certain teams can no longer finish top, etc. If you want that, let me know by hitting like so I know I'm not talking to myself.

Feel free to point out mistakes and updates as we go.

If England finish top of the group:
3rd place from Group D, E or F.

Possibles: Netherlands, France, Poland, Austria, Romania, Slovakia, Belgium, Ukraine, Portugal, Czechia, Türkiye, Georgia.

If England finish 2nd:
Winner of Group A.

Possibles: Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Scotland.

If England finish 3rd:
Winner of Group E or F.

Possibles: Romania, Slovakia, Belgium, Ukraine, Portugal, Czechia, Türkiye, Georgia.

As it stands yes.

Which group's 3rd place "lucky loser" we would face depends on which four groups all of the lucky losers come from (ABCD we play D, ABCE we play E, etc etc... I won't go into all 15 combinations unless anyone wants it?)

A bit like Brighton coming top of our Europa group, only for Marseille to have a much easier few games in the knockouts

Looks that way at the moment, but it'll narrow down. Some teams are never going to finish 3rd, but they're in here for completeness while it's still a mathematical possibility.

Top the group and we're more likely to face Georgia than France. Come 3rd and we're more likely to face Portugal than Georgia.

Btw I will try and do a Scotland one tonight on a separate thread. I know it looks doubtful right now and yes we're taking the mick, but only one game played so there's still hope. I'd love it if they went through tbh, it'd be more fun with them still in it.
