Thye've looked a bit better since Thomas came on and England have sat back a bit, but there is such a gulf between the two teams. We should be even more ahead!

Credit to Bronze at the end. Lovely ball and excellent header by her.

After Earps and the post kept the ball out at the other end, that should do it despite Netherlands getting a 3rd.

But...it's not enough with Netherlands getting a 4th.

Exciting end to the game at least.

So England are out of the Nations League, and TeamGB will not be at the Paris Olympics which is even more of a shame. However despite the 6-0 result this evening we have not been good enough recently despite having a decent squad so only have ourselves to blame.

Yes, losing 2 out of the 4 in the September/October fixtures, especially the 3-2 away in Belgium, ultimately cost them.

Not enough clean sheets. Before tonight, just one in the previous 8 games.

The return of Williamson and Bright can't come quick enough.

Looks like the Dutch really wanted it. 34 shots! Against a team only a point below them.

The timing was, but as bad as they were, Scotland should've probably scored in that 2nd half as well.

England just hasn't been consistent enough over the group games to merit it.

Loads of the Dutch are complaining about match fixing, saying because they only beat the Scots 1-0 at away it wouldn't be possible that we won 6-0 away.

They really did leave themselves open to these allegations (not the fault of England or Scotland mind), but as soon as it was decided that England would be representing Team GB they should have made sure none of the other home nations in League A could have been drawn against England.

So what about Belgium bringing on their sub-keeper in added time? Haven't seen the final goal but would their first choice keeper have saved it? It would have still caused the defence to be slightly put off. When the whistle went in Scotland England match the Dutch needed one more goal, little chat between the coaches & suddenly keeper is changed. Strikes me as seriously dodgy.

Any insinuation that Belgium might've helped to engineer a Netherlands win could be countered by asking how many Belgian players could be called up to represent the Netherlands in the Olympics should they go on to reach the Nations League final and thus qualify for the Olympics.

None.

Additionally, the Netherlands had beaten Belgium 5-0 in a friendly just 5 months ago on 2nd July 2023. It's not beyond the realms of fantasy to suggest that they could subsequently beat them again 4-0 in a competitive fixture with the expectation for a large scoreline to be likely required.

At 5-0 up after 49 minutes against an abysmal Scottish side, it took a full 44 minutes before Bronze scored the 6th in the 93rd.
England's failure to press home their advantage against a demoralized team ultimately cost them.

That said, it was in the Netherlands hands to qualify. Irrespective of the goal timings, they did what they needed to do.
