We are fieldng like absolute wankers, long on and ong off were far too deep and Marcus Trescothick, seeing as he did NOTHING with the bat, is fielding like a ****.

What is fatboy Key doing in that side? He doesn't even do the decent thing & get out quickly, seems to hang around for ages before the inevitable happens.
Shit fielder too.

Jonathan Agnew was speculating on the Today programme that Robin Martin-Jenkins might be called into the next one-day England team. He obviously hasn't beem watching Sussex this year.

THey need to get some better fielders in there, the likes of Giles, Trecothick and Harmison were bing picked on yesterday by Lara and Sarwan because they are so lumberous.

That's true. England must have the worst fielders of all the international teams. Freddie Flintoff's not the most agile of fielders, but you can forgive him, the rest really should look at themselves.

That game yesterday was winnable. And if Australia or SA had been defending England's total, they would have won with ease.

The blame cannot solely lie with the fielders and the bowlers though. 59 off the first 20 overs is not good enough considering the pitch.

Vaughan and Trescothick must take a long hard look at themselves, they are getting out far too easily nowadays. Key should not be picked again, so what if he's scored a bucket load of runs this season, it's clear he hasn't got the bottle for international cricket. Strauss and Flintoff should be pushed up the order, I think Vaughan needs to drop down to 4 and Strauss should open with Tresco and Freddy should come in at 3, it's time we put a bit of faith in him, it's clear that he's our best batsmen so surely he should be getting as much time at the crease as possible.

5,6,7 are easy.

Collingwood, PRIOR and Read (get him back in FFS).

The bowling is a bit of a problem, with no good spinner we are reduced to a seam attack. Gough is bowling well again so secures his place, Harmison is a must, Hoggard when fit should play. The last place is a hard one, I don't like Anderson as a one day bowler, he gives away a lot of runs, I know he takes wickets but that's no good if your economy rate is over 6 most of the time. Let's find some fresh blood.

I know, but what I was saying is that the other sides would make a better effort at defending a less than perfect score. The bowliing's not too bad,. but the fielding is dreadful. Way short of international class.

I think the England management is well aware of the problems at the top of the order. I don't think Freddie at 3 is the answer - a good swing bowler could wreak havoc early on. Save Freddie for later on when the ball's a bit older.

I'm not sure the West Indies would have done with their bowling attack....

Who would your top 5 be? Out of interest.

My top 5 would be...

Nick Knight (Warwickshire)
Andrew Strauss (Middlesex)
Ian Thomas (Glamorgan)
Andrew Flintoff (Lancashire)
Michael Vaughan (Yorkshire)

If... They were all fit that is... And Vaughan is only there at 5 as he is captain otherwise i'd have him dropped!

Tresco
Strauss
Jones
Vaughan
Flintoff

I'd give Jones a go at 3. He did OK the other day.
