No you are wrong.
It is part of the rugby code. the players respect each other and the officials.

At the end of EVERY rugby match each team makes a tunnel for the other team to go through to shake hands.
At amateur level, they have a drink together after the match.

This.

Almost always agree with Triggaaar, but he’s wrong on this.

Rugby players express their aggression on the pitch. On 80 minutes, that’s all buried, the players socialise, the managers are classy post match.

this is because they don't really care

Can you tell me what I'm wrong about? This is all I said:
"Are all rugby teams magnanimous after losing, or is it easier for New Zealand given that they won the last two world cups? I reckon England fans and players could be fairly magnanimous if we lost the 2030 World Cup semi-final, having won the WC in 2022 and 2026."

I haven't said otherwise. I just asked a question.

Of course!

You are right as always.:wanker

Actually, you replied to more than one post.
I replied to just one of your posts before you waded in with "No you are wrong." I asked what was wrong and you replied that I was "like a dog with a bone". Seriously, WTF

That was the most complete England performance I've seen since I started watching them in 1971. How could anyone choose one man of the match?

So many of the drubbings and battles won in the Guscott/Winterbotham/Underwood era were also complete. Winning for many years in a row (including in the WC) in Paris, and handing out regular drubbings to all the other home nations. Happy days also to be England rugby follower.

Because rugby managers and players, including NZ when they didn’t have 2 current WC’s in the bag, are invariably magnanimous after a defeat, not conceited after a win.

It’s simply the ethos of the sport.

But I haven't said that's not the case. I asked a question.

Surely the simple answer is "all rugby teams are magnanimous after losing", rather than "No you are wrong"

Was your original statement a genuine enquiry or rhetorical? Only you would know, I suspect the latter when posted.

Yes, it maybe easier for them to do so however they would still have the same attitude even if this wasn’t the case.

Respect in rugby is essential.
1. Respect the game
2. Respect the ref
3. Respect the opposition
4. Respect for your yourself and team mates.

Wales v England would be a 50/50 game, I just hope South Africa win tomorrow.

I think you're selling England short there. Remember, Liam Williams - one of their best players - is out. And Faf de Klerk is playing out of his skin.

Steve Hansen and the NZ players were magnanimous after the loss today. Not drawn on negatives or stirring by interviewers ... instead, simply praise for England.

Kiwis are top people, they know their onions and they know there's no shame in being beaten by a team playing positive, hard brand of rugby. The sport is all the stronger after today's contest. They will be back and i relish our next fixture.

I always love ex-Blacks doing media work for us such as Sean Fitzpatrick. They’ve churned out countless true legends of the game, who can all intelligently pass on their unmatched wisdom.

Praise doesn't come any higher than Sean Fitzpatrick admitting NZ were outplayed from start to finish. He offered no excuses, NZ beaten all ends up. The thing is - you have to win AND leave enough gas in tank to win the Final. But Eddie Jones knows that.

Although I was sceptical, it was also a genuine question. If I had been taking the piss I'd have just said something like 'when you've just won 2 world cups in a row it's easy to be magnanimous the one time you lose', and left it at that. I wouldn't have asked about other teams.

An extra day’s rest, every increment helps, even it part psychological.

So glad that Eddie Jones reign is working. (Football style) sports media shite stirrers such as the BBC’s arrogant Chris Jones have spent his entire reign exaggerating the effect of any losses, hard selection dilemmas, mind games soundbites, all as huge failures and gaffs. Zero respect, whereas Gatland in Wales and Ireland managers get the unbridled support of their media and nation. We’re lucky to have Eddie Jones, the RFU and fans know it.
