Absolute disgrace, cricket really doesn’t help itself does it. A mate of mine who’s up there today and tomorrow is absolutely fuming, understandably so you have to feel.

There are lights. You play cricket AT NIGHT.

There should be no such thing as "bad light".

Something to do with Archers pace. I wasn't listening intently on telly, but I heard something about Laburschange whinging about not being able to see Archers deliveries, and Root declining to bowl Leach

Can someone explain why they are off for light when they have floodlights.

Because they're playing in whites and not their pajamas , no other reason. There's no restriction on how fast you can bowl in a T20 game under lights but test cricket no.

Presumably a red ball isn't as visible as the white under lights.

Still an arseache.

Joe Root was offered the chance to bowl spin and elected not too. I was told once there is the ‘4 shadow’ clearly visible the umpires take the players off as that means the artificial lighting has taken over, the floodlights are used to supplement light, not to make it possible to play in unplayable dark conditions. Seems odd to me seen as if this was a one day match the light would be fine?

Bizzare, I’m not sure if that’s true mind.

Indeed.

Here's the view my brother sent me earlier. Guess it was fun at that stage.

Raining again now. It's grim up north.

As Easy said, it's not a white ball so the rules are different. It's not easy picking up a red ball in the gloom (he says with memories of a skier he dropped in Worthing when the sky was as black as Newgate's knocker)

Ball still moving but somehow these two have clung in there.
