Bashir bowled tidily this evening, good win although it’s been a pretty one sided series.

But did we say the same when this happened earlier in the year?

"Hard fought game for three and a half days before ending suddenly" could probably sum up well over 50% of test matches.

I just wish the West Indies (all touring sides really) could have had a better lead in so that they have a half decent chance to play like that from the first match rather than it having to be a glorified warm up.

Indeed. Most touring sides would play quite a few county warm ups before the series. It's the schedule these days that prevents it.

they were great games. I still recall(and have mementoes from) our game at Hove v SA in ‘65(I think) - the SA team then had Richards, Barlow, Van de Merve, the Pollocks et al

A couple of years ago I took my dad to the Sussex v New Zealand game at Hove, which was his first ever game of cricket.

He really enjoyed it - I think it met his expectations of a nice placid day of cricket. Everybody else I spoke to or overheard described it as one of the most tedious days of sport they'd ever subjected themselves to. :lolol:
