Why dear oh dear? He's not far off the mark at all. England played pretty well and the USA barely had a sniff...

What have Eng got to do to make some NSC posters happy? I honestly find it hard to believe that so many Albion fans slag Eng off - we're used to far worse and we dominated a game last night

I think some people really want England to fail to suit their agenda. It is as fashionable to criticise England as it is Man U or, increasingly, Chelsea.

I don't think England were anywhere near as bad as some make out.

My concern is that we have still to find a replacement for Beckham. Bentley is supposed to be it but, for me, he did not provide as much as Beckham last night. Hopefully he will come good because I can't see anyone else at the moment.

Funny, on Sunday pretty much the whole crowd stood all game!

There were about 3 people around me even attempting to sing. Shame cos I thought my ingenius chant of "Uncle Sam, is a wanker, is a wanker" was a sure fire winner. (Although I heard plenty of people booing the US anthem to answer your earlier question)

I guess Sunday would be better because it was effectively a league game with huge stakes between two local rivals, last night was a meaningless friendly against dullard opposition in which the sparse crowd were more interested in not spilling any of their £7 crayfish & mozarella with rocket leaves baguette onto their ties.

Yes, the crowd on Sunday was rather more partisan! The atmosphere made it; very few England games could compare, a nailbiting qualification game is the only thing you could compare the play-off final with.
