Filthy day in London today. I'm not holding up much hope for a decent amount of play today.

Ah, summer is here. WFH today and tomorrow, and a test match on the telly. Whats not to like.

Looks like we might be starting on time, and definitely looks like a win toss, bowl day.

I really don't understand Buttler as a specialist No.7 could have played all rounders either Woakes or Moeen. Or if your going to be adventurous play Sam Curran.
I look forward to being proved wrong.

Shows what I know. England win toss and BAT !

It takes quite unbelievable degrees of green top and overcast conditions for teams to ever win the toss and field these days.

His bating or his decision to bat?

DJ Malan c Sarfraz Ahmed b Hasan Ali 6

Eng 43/3 :nono:
Swinging at a delivery that he could barely reach.

Good toss to lose I suspect, arguments for both batting and having a bowl first.

Was gobsmacked when I heard we decided to bat. Completely ignored the conditions and just decided because we have a spinner in the team we wanted to bowl last.

Very odd and shows we have little confidence in our pace attack to do a job.

Given the weakness of our top order I really think putting them in on a day like today where there was going to be loads of swing was folly.

Early days but Joe Root is showing all the hall marks of being the worst captain in living memory.

His biggest problem as Captain is that he has lost Joe Root as a capable batsman.
