Lunch, Day One

England 67-0 (29 overs)

Burns 32* Sibley 31*

The first time in 10 years that the England openers have batted through a complete first session of a home Test match.

Enough said.

Would be great to see an England team win the toss and bat first and still be batting on day 2.

Would be great not to see the regular batting collapse.

Chasing balls outside off stump on the first day of a test match? I hope the team building BBQ on Sunday is worth it.

Didn't England lose a wicket for 111 in the first test, and now just lost one for 222?

Poor old David Sheppard would have been hopping about like nobodies business.

Probably England about 50 short but we will see what the Lawrence & the Tail can do before the Kiwis bat.

Just great to see Test Match Cricket in front of a Crowd!

So, England resume this morning, 258/7.

What do we predict as the a/o total?

I'll go 269.

Our tail have frequently shown our crap batsmen how it's done. I'll also be optimistic and go for 340. New Zealand will then make 475 by the end of day 4 and we'll be batting on day 5 to save the test AGAIN.
