Not impressed with tonights performance, ok its their first game properly together and without the boy wonder. But we MUST start with two strikers otherwise we'll be chasing the game too much in the latter stages.

I thought it was a good performance. Ok mid to late 1st half was ordinary but the way we came out in the 2nd and played out the 2nd half was spot on, we showed some spirit but need to lift our game come 10th June.

Looking back i was pretty dissapointed, we did learn that Carragher isnt a holding midfield player...if your going to play one it has to be Carrick....hopefully even Sven sees that now...
We still know Beckham has great delivery and last nights peformance should end the stupid Lennon starting debate.
Why he didnt he give him 20 mins though ?
For me we now know Gerrard needs to play central midfield.
I know people think Lampard and Gerrard dont play well together in there, but i havent seen anything better as yet.
We need to get back to what we know.
Cole Gerrard Lampard Beckham Midfield.
Owen and Crouch up front.
Its simple for me, not the ideal but its what the players know and what at the present stage is our best side.
We will qualify comfortably from our group with that starting 11. We can re-asses who is available after that.

Big game player Owen...he will be fine, by far our best forward, another couple of weeks and another game till the World Cup. Im sure his fitness and sharpness are improving all the time.
He really didnt need to be playing up front on his own either in his 2nd game back....
