Lunch, Day Two

England 71-1 (29 overs), trailing by 213

Burns 41* (95 balls, 5 fours) Root 11* (57 balls)

A steady session for England, with a gritty effort from Burns, and a hopefully key moment when Joe Root got a life when bowled by Pattinson!

A huge session ahead, and not just in this match but the whole series.

If either side can dominate, it will really lay down a marker.

Would be ruddy marvellous if we could get to tea with Burns and Root still there

Burns still being there now is a bonus already.

Root review on lbw............

Clear inside edge. Another one down to the umpires.

I've never seen anything like it.

Has someone drugged the umpires?

Lovely to hear John Holder in the " Ask The Umpire " lunch break confirm that the Umpire should ( and did ) award 6 runs in the World Cup Final when the ball came off Stoke's bat and went for 4 overthrows... so that's it ! We Won !

Each umpire has had 5 decisions overturned on review. 10 in the match and only on day 2. Impressive

Although amusing, not quite sure why the crowd are chanting same old Aussies, always cheating. All they did was appeal, it's the umpire that gave it out. England would have appealed for that too.

You've answered your own question.
