Good luck to the boys tonight in their pivotal U-21 qualifier against fierce local rivals Republic of Ireland. England currently sit proudly at the top of their qualifying table, 6 points clear of one of the supposed strongest U-21 sides in the world, Portugal and can go 3 points closer to the promised land of the European U-21 Championship 2009 with victory tonight.

Stuart Pearce and the boys have done the nation proud tonight and are playing in front of another sell out audience. The future of English football is very bright.

All the best boys!

Well said. Some of the people who knock up and coming talent in England should look at this squad and recognise how many of them play fairly regular premiership football.

Wales are top of their group (inc France "one of the supposed strongest U-21 sides in the world" and Romania) after a 4-0 win in Malta earlier today.

We'll see you in Sweden!

Would love to see one there, but I doubt it.

Was a while ago but someone did say that Falmer would be the sort of venue that could and probably would hold Under-21 friendlies so it's very possible. I wish I could remember who it was, I seem to remember it was something on the end of season DVD.

Just got back.

England were WAY better than the Irish but just couldn't find the killer touch in the first half. Once Milner scored the result was never in doubt and the Southampton crowd nearly EJACULATED when Walcott scored the third.

Decent performance from England but they will have to play better than tonight to win a tournament.

we left at about 70 mins because the diva princess daughter would not stop whining. it reminded me why i don't like to go and watch games were i don't support either team because it's dull. going tonight though, minus kids so the ale will help with the dullness.

The U-21's are currently on the Setanta playing against Slovenia, just fought back to 1-1 in what has been a teriffically entertaining game so far. Defending a proud unbeaten record, just a dissapointment there is such a small audience there.

Won 2-1, another excellent performance by our young guns and extends our unbeaten run to an incredible 24 games at this level.

Well done boys!

The boy Kightly from Wolves looks an excellent player and would be worthy of Premier League status.

England playing right now, looking to extend their proud and historic unbeaten run and leading Portugal 1-0 at the moment.
