Mings is awful and gets in again.
Maguire is awful and still gets in.
Shaw & Stones barely get in their respective teams but still get in.
Ward Prowse is good at free kicks but a very average player elsewhere.

Some other great talent missing out.

I read recently about how Southgate tries to create a club mentality within the England set up and that gives reason to why he picks the same players over and over again.

With a 65% win ration, it seems to be working.

Per games stats of English CBs this season.

Guehi rates:
17th on overall rating;
31st on tackles per game;
29th on interceptions;
4th on least fouls;
13th on least yellows;
21st on clearances;
30th on shots blocked;
27th on passes blocked;
5th on total passes;
12th on accurate long balls;
27th on fewest inaccurate long balls;
4th on accurate short passes;
18th on fewest inaccurate short passes;
13th on goals scored;
26th on headers won;
21st on least headers lost.
1st on letting it bounce

It was a little bit of work on https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/2...erStatistics/England-Premier-League-2021-2022, but it was such a monumentally stupid thing to claim that quite how wrong it was had to be pointed out.

He's played for all of England's age range sides, but is eligible to play for the Ivory Coast. The former makes him a Southgate pick and the latter tells you why it has happened before he has earned it.

You forgot 1 important stat. I've added it for you.

Squad is so bad.

Stones and shaw never play so not sure why they are there.

Luke Shaw has played 29 times for Man United this season, including 19 of their 29 PL games.

Last season he played 47 times, including 32 of the 38 PL games.

He also played every game for England at the Euros, was probably England's best player, and even scored in the final.

That's probably why.

I thought Maguire was England's best player, despite being absolutely shit for Man U for most of last season. I think what tipped it for me was his no-nonsense penalty in the shoot out. He could've told Donnarumma where he was going to put it and he still wouldn't have saved it.

Young Tyrick Mitchell just been called up for the senior squad.
What a great boost for our academy.

What a bounce though, straight over Dunk and Webster :p
I just don’t get the so called “ Palace bias” by Southgate. Both players were picked on merit,Guehi, 21 and captain, probably has the best stats by any English CB, whereas Gallagher has been superb .
Both well deserved .

Err talking of "Palace bias".........

Why do you even bother coming on here and spouting your biased rubbish comments?

Kindly fork off to your own board.

Too much, too soon. A decent player but another one - like Wan- Bissaka before him - who has not really earned his call-up and has no X Factor.

It appears the waistcoat wanker was simply waiting for Hodgson to move on and Palace to start attempting to play football before he started to shoehorn as many of their players as possible into the squad to prop up the CB M-gimps (the oil tanker and the one with a pitching wedge for a left foot). Dibley must be gutted that he threw his lot in with Cote D'Ivoire as he'd surely be the first name on the team sheet (and on the floor) under Southgate.
