I think he will. If we make it to the semis. Against a side like Brazil or Spain its the only way we will beat them

Maybe he wants to see if Gerrard and Lampard can play together.....

What a great idea.

They currently both play in the middle of midfield for teams that are overly packed with players!

The trouble with playing Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard in the same team is they all want to find the same space between Midfield and Attack.

If Gerrard was disciplined to sit back and give Rooney that space whilst passing the ball around from deep and allowing Lampard to pass the skillful little balls with the front two it has the ability to work.

We should at least trial it in the group stages when Barry won't be fit and we are playing the poorer teams, With some pacey wingers to occupy defenders the Strickers could get a lot of space
