The Colwill one is strange as he can play centre back or full back which must be an asset
Hasn't been playing that well for his current employers though. Has been on the bench a few times recently, as it's finally dawned on them that yet another player plays much better in a Brighton shirt than a Chelsea one.

Define chav. I'm taking it you're using it as anybody from the north in this instance, and more than likely from a working-class background.

And he's a good lad because he squares against these sorts of people and is a posh toff from Poole.

Someone votes blue
Defined by the haircut and behaviour. Nothing to do with geography. Also Foden's goal celebration.🤣
For example, Foden had a punch-up in the VIP area at a boxing match. Walker has 2 families. Grealish drove into a parked car while pissed.

Unfortunately RDZ said he is only capable of playing 1 game a week which might suggest he is not ideal for tournament football. Hope it doesn’t work against his selection.
Really?

But he's playing Saturday, midweek, Saturday all through the season?

It matters not anyway, for even if he's in the squad Southgate will pick Maguire, but shirley history shows Dunk is capable of 3 games a week?

Nobodies surprised its one of many reasons he needs to go.

That attack is frightening. I doubt there's a better attack in world football, but it will be wasted under waistcoat.

We have an embarrassment of riches and we should've won something with our squad, he's been out tactic'ed on a couple of occasions.

Nice guy, built a great team spirit/environment, not up to it tactically.

Graham Potter?
I am going to defend Southgte.

We once had a Golden Generation and never got close to winning anything. Southgate appears to have eliminated the club cliques. And we have got closer to a win than ever, since 66.

Southgate has, however, the demeanour of someone who brings out the bully in people. In that regard, Potter would be a perfect replacement.

Our greatest ever manager was Venables. He didn't deal with the cliques and we did not win Euro 96. But we were heading in the right direction. One day, he may even have selected a second black player.

Venables gets away with his meagre legacy (as a manager he won one FA cup in England, and one la liga in Spain, not fit to lick the boots of Bobby Robson) because he's a man's man, a clubbable bloke with charisma. Even I think he was England's greatest ever manager. Or would have been had Piers Morgan not decided to go for him. He brings out Man Love.

We are mugs. Men. We are dazzled by the Big Dog, and just want to give the dweebs like waistcoat man and Potter a dry slap, steal their school dinner money, and shit in their hat and punch it. That's what we're like.

I think it’s a bit more complicated than that, and mental health related potentially.
I agree.

It may not be polite to ask but is he addicted to tanning products, or does he in fact, like Barkley, have some black heritage?

His missus looks like hard work, but that may be my ingrained prejudice against lip implantations.

Perhaps Ben has elaborated a complex psychic and personal architecture to protect a vulnerability.

In any case, I fully support his decision to make the choices he has made. Best of luck to him.

He has done well in the environment he's created and he's a genuinely nice and respectful guy.

We may have got closer to a win than ever, but a lot of that is down to nothing much more than favourable draws.

In 2018 we got to a semi with a gift of a draw, we beat the teams on paper in our group, that we should've beat and lost to Belgium. Par for the course. Of course its not easy to beat Colombia on pens or Sweden but they are both teams we were favourites to beat and ranked higher than. Our next truly toss up opponent, Croatia we lost to and again Belgium in 3rd place play off.

Headline we got to SF.... reality we beat all those we should of, with a kind draw and lost all games against higher ranked teams.

Pretty much the same in Qatar, viz a viz France instead of Belgium/Croatia.

The covid euros where we had a virtually home tournament. Yes we beat Germany, but again being totally honest, while that is wonderful it is similar to our beating Ajax in this years EL. Its great but they are not the full strength team of yesteryear and on paper we were favourites at home to do so.

We were 1-0 up at home early to not the strongest Italian team and you could see in real time the difference between Mancini tactical nous, in changing game, taking control and Southgate stood passively watching it.

Penalties is of course a lottery and not his fault, but we had the better team, at home with an early lead and a better manager would've managed that game tactically better imho

Lets see where he ends up after England!

Lol! If that had been the record of Venables he would have been made Sir El Tel. Possible Lord Venables of Tottingham

I suspect he'll end up somewhere like Ipswich (doing a reverse Ramsey) or nowhere.

I wouldn't want him at our club. And I make no bones about it - this is prejudice speaking. Even if Southgate led us to an FA cup win I'd still not be happy.

Apparently I misquoted RDZ who actually said something like he couldnt manage 90 mins per game twice a week

edit
"I have to manage these players in the best way,” said head coach De Zerbi after the loss at Craven Cottage. “We play Roma, we play Sunday against Nottingham Forest and then another Thursday [Roma, home leg]. Maybe Lewis plays international team. He can’t play 90 minutes every game.”

I know a number of Albion fans think he should be in there by right, but we shouldn't get complacent of this achievement. Southgate has lots of good options at CB. But nonetheless, Brighton captain Lewis Dunk recalled and looking good for this summers’ Euros. Very exciting!
