How do you think they played? And should they keep their place in the squad?

Hart - 7 - Dealt with everything, not too many saves to make. IN

G Johnson - 6 - Not his best game by a long way, But the best right back we have. IN

Jagielka - 7 - Much improvement to our defence. IN

Terry - 6 - Was ok but nothing spectacular as you would expect from the Chelsea man. MAYBE

Cole - 6.5 - solid enough, evan if he is out of his mind for cheating on Cheryl. IN

Walcott - 7 - Showed good dribbling skills and great pace. IN

Lampard - 5 - Just not the same player for England as he is for Chelsea. OUT

Barry - 6 - Broke up play well. IN

A Johnson - 8 - Proved he should of been on that plane, poss our best player on the night. IN

Gerrard - 8 - Some nice passes and 2 great goals. IN

Rooney - 6.5 - Much better than he was in South Africa, much more lively. Still not as good as you'd expect however. IN

SUBS

Bobby Zamora - 8 - He was brilliant. Unlucky not to score. Looked better than Rooney. IN

Young - 5 - Not a great performance. OUT

Gibbs - 7 - Very good, very exciting. IN

Dawson - 5 - Did not look totally comfortable, could get better with more caps. IN

Milner - 5 - Quite. Not really on for long enough to be able to rule him out

Wilshere - 5 - See above

not sure how Bobby rates the same as Gerrard and Johnson, and better than Gibbs.
Only Gerrard stood out for me. For once he looked like he actually cares about playing for his country.
Walcott OK in patches, Gibbs very good attacking going forward, not tested too much at the back
Adam Johnson looks confident, and gives the whole team a good balance, did just as well on the right too

I thought bobby had a decent debut, u could tell the Hungarian defenders were more rattled by a big holding center forward. think giving him the same rating as Gerrard is a bit much tho. 7 for bobby 9 for Gerrard

largely agree but...

Walcott did show great dribbling and pace... but nothing at the end of it. no news there. OUT.

Milner. we have seen plenty enough over the past year or two to know he is top player, will probably emerge as the replacement for Gerrard at the next WC. IN.

and to take off the hero-worship glasses, Zamora had a good game, no more.

Disagree about Young, he was good. Gibbs looks handy too.
They will mature, and perhaps be constant figures for England by next year.

Apart from when he beat his man in the box and put it on a plate for Johnson to sky over!

Worthing
Johnson is simply dreadful (again he proved it last night 4/10 is about right), if he is the best right back we have we might as well give up now. I think Gary Neville is better than him, so is Hibbert at Everton (?English) and there are probably others at the 'so-called unfashionable clubs'.

If only Calderon was English........

That's about right, although Adam Johnson was decent, I thought. Rooney picked up right where he left off after the World Cup - huffing, puffing and being inable to control a thing.
