The greatest TV viewing night in history.

Sup up your beer & collect your fags, get some money for a take away curry, nothing can ever keep me from TV

Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads
The only time I regret not having sky. Trying to console myself by listening to Setting Sons and telling myself that the footie will be shite anyway

What times and channel are The Specials and The Jam on? I can't see a TV guide ATM.
Thanks.

The story of The Jam

".... So we jumped on Concorde and came back to a England to do TOTP..."

Bet the champagne tasted great too.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Jam and still do, but you know what, all that political bollocks, sometimes seems a little difficult to swallow.

To me, musically it is The Small Faces and The Jam with Squeeze creeping in there, lyrically Ray Davies, Billy Bragg and Paul Weller.

That last concert in '82 along with the Cup Final in '83.....great memories.

Brilliant night on sky arts, probably the best Rock documentary you'll see confirming The Jam as the best band of late 70s early 80s

Champagne socialists the lot of them, Billy Bragg on question time defending old labour whilst living in a £6m farm house in Dorset.

Hopefully this Jam program is good as recorded it

I recorded it but the sound went awry during the musical interludes. All interviews were ok but at times you couldn't hear anything when music was being played. Recorded on Virgin TiVo - never experienced it before. Anybody else have similar issues?

Weller famously said he's probably voty tory (77ish). It was red wedge that got him into politics - post Jam.

ps What's wrong with having money and being 'old labour'? Socialism is not the pursuit of poverty . . . .

You beat me too it.

On the back of the Ken Livingstone thread the other day these types of comments really are pathetic.

They are basically saying:-

'Even though you have a talent you're not allowed to use it or make a living from it if you vote Labour'.

If high profile socialists were sipping champagne while hiding money from the tax man.
Or lording it up on their 500 year inheritance, screwing people over through 'Etonian' dealings then go for the jugular.

But saying 'oh he's good enough to be paid well, so they must be fake' just smacks of small minded jealousy.
