Not nearly as loud as they usually are at major tournaments though?

England fans are at their best with a bit of competition on and off the pitch. It was a lacklustre game for the most part, and there were hardly any Ecuador fans. Not ideal for the best atmosphere.

I agree. Some of the football we have been playing is so boring and predictable.I will be glad when Sven goes to be honest

Hardly heard them today, just got off the phone to Paddy and he said up until 50 minutes it was worse than a morgue.

He was asked to leave the stadium at 50 minutes so can't comment on after that! lol

So will I but McClaren is not going to be an improvement, we should have been patient and waited until after the WC and appointed Scolari. reading between the lines of his interview with Leonardo, he would have taken the job if he was not such an honourable man. Quite understand that he didn't want to be appointed to another country whilst he was taking Portugal into the WC. FA f***ed up..again

Nice one,Starry.e:( :( :( :albion:

He didn't do anything wrong!

Edit - Just realised my post made it sound like he'd been kicked out. I should have said he left at 50 minutes.

His buddy who was ticketless and watching in the square lost his wallet and money, hotel swipe card etc and was totally stuck and couldn't get in his room to get his bank card/spare money or whatever and Paddy had to go to the rescue.

Paddy was so bored of the game and the atmosphere he didn't mind leaving. I have a feeling had it been a better game he would of told his mate to wait.

There were various issues between Scolari and the FA. They wanted him to take a Pearce/Shearer as his right-hand man, he wanted his own man. He would have immediately axed Beckham from captaincy, and possibly starting line-up, FA weren't happy with that. And of course the media intrusion. And then the fact he was taking Portugal to the World Cup at the time.

Funnily enough I find myself siding with him over our FA on just about all of those points.

Chez and myself chatted to a few Boro fans whilst in Tenerife and they all said the best thing this season for them was not the european cup final, it was Mclaren leaving because he is a clueless twat. Breeds confidence for Englands hopes in the European championships:nono: :nono:
