It undoubtedly has some nice aspects, and we had a decent time, but the poverty outside of the city centre is depressing. As was the overwhelming number of young people smoking, beggars everywhere you turned and the constant risk of breaking your ankle on completely un-maintained paving. Obviously there are socio-economic reasons for all of these, and maybe it was a cheap shot, but I was highlighting the fact that many people don't know how good they've got it in this country when compared to other places.

You should choose your accommodation more carefully. Where do you stay in London, round Selhurst?

Vitosha Boulevard was a cut above West Street this weekend.

Agreed - the bars and restaurants along that stretch were great - but you didn't have to go far out of town to see the other side of things. Our accommodation was only three stops from Serdika on the Metro, so it's not like we were staying miles out of town.

With the marathon and half marathon on as well accommodation was at a premium, so I guess you were unlucky. We spent Friday night 6 miles out at South Park and full of Hove/Islington mummy yummy types.

The Steward thing is odd. It's the first England trip I've seen 10-or so Wembley stewards - in Wembley orange vests, in full security attire at the ticket collection points and then in the ground later. Not sure why as what could they do?

Name a good thing about England?
You are free to spout your ridiculous immature twaddle on the internet. You have a right to vote. You, because you live in this country and unlike many others in this world have clean tap water to drink, you have access to electricity to charge your devices so you can get food delivered to your doorstep or even have the luxury of turning on a ****ing lightbulb, something millions around the world have no option of doing, getting food on demand is a frigging pipe dream luxury for some people too, let alone actual food.. Someone will have your back in this country if you are being forced into an arranged marriage or having your genitals mutilated. We have a free press without government censorship. You have redress of grievance against UK made law and can directly lobby your elected member of parliament who can address your grievance at the highest level. We have a health service that will treat you a citizen of this country for free without asking you your insurance details. You can expect your employer to pay you whilst you are on holiday, have a butchers at how many countries don’t do this.
Name one good thing about England?
You are a moaning little privileged brat. Get out of your bubble and realise how lucky you are .

We are so lucky to live in this country, great post. I'd add to that that we are (believe it or not with Brexit etc going on) one of the most tolerant countries in the world. Its a relatively extremely safe country to live in. We don't suffer corruption in anywhere near the same way as much of the world. Free - and very good - education. And loads more stuff I can't be bothered to add now.

Not sure how we 'lag behind' other countries Plooks mentions. All countries have their own issues of some sort. And most countries have problems with football fans too, difference is (unfortunately) some of our muppets like to travel abroad with england.

We're nothing special by any means but not enough people appreciate how lucky we are here

The Brits do have a bad reputation of booing other national anthems, not just in football.
I remember the Americans were outraged when that happened in Las Vegas for the Hatton v Mayweather boxing match.

Right, so no different to France, Ireland, Sweeden, Australia, Canada, US, Germany...
Face it we are nothing special and, if anytbing, lag behind. We only have the stuff you mention because we opress enough of the world into poverty anyway!

What a complete and utter bellend of the highest order. There's no reasoning with such a :wanker:
