Way out west
...wasn't that after our fans invaded the pitch at the Goldstone, versus York, forcing the match to be abandoned?

What odds would you have "chalked up" beforehand on a table like this being announced?

2/1 ..

Ladbrokes went 3's on though:thud:

No it was for the pitch invasion against Lincoln the following season

FH
What about the time in the late 70's when a smoke bomb was thrown on the pitch from the south stand. Think it was against Blackpool? We scored and were given the goal.
Was very important at the time that we won as we were pushing for promotion.
The result stood.
Would it still nowadays?

Brighton 47th, with a goal difference of 150+.

+266 actually. You were looking at Tranmere.

1433 points behind Manure, but we have 599 games in hand!

I think it was BlackBURN. It was the last home game of the promotion season and the 2nd last overall (just Newcastle away to go). And yes, my heart was in my mouth as I thought that the referee was going to disallow it or that Blackburn would make a complaint afterwards. From memory they didn't, but I'm a senile old git so I may have got all this completely wrong.

Also I think Mark Lawrenson was presented with his Player of The Season award on the pitch before the game. He'd broken his arm and missed the last few games and it was still in a sling when he picked up his award, which was a very nice 17 inch color TV. He was also wearing black flares and a green and black striped tank-top - but like I say I'm a senile old git and this all may be the tricks of my decaying memory.

Thanks for helping me out. Especially as I'm also a senile old git and often get it completely wrong!

I think there is nothing wrong with your memory. In fact I think you are spot on in that it was Blackburn not Blackpool. At least it began with a B and the team were from "up north". Know doubt the crowd would have been not far off 30,000?

Imagine having to play over 3500 games and only end up with a goal difference of +13. truly they are sh!t:laugh:

47th and only 6 points off Walsall - luckily we've got 226 games in hand.

We'd have been above em if we hadn't had that disaster the other week
