If he has not signed a contract extension, I don’t see any hope of us keeping him in the summer sadly. We’ll have to let him go cheap like Bissouma, Trossard or Mac Allister.

But whilst I love the player, I do struggle to see where he fits in with Hürzelerball?

FH seems to like two genuine wingers, Enciso is more of a No.10. That position is vastly oversubscribed at this club. His preference is clearly Pedro or Rutter but you have the likes of Gruda, MOR, Gomez and probably others who could perform very well there. Then there is Facu on loan who will want that position next season.

The best we can hope for is that he is brilliant for Ipswich and a bidding war is created meaning a good number of clubs are interested and we can get near the £40m or so that we want.

Ferguson’s loan will be the next one I guess.

I'm very much in this camp. Really like the player but Enciso, somewhat like Sarmiento and Buonanotte, just don't quite fit in FH's set up.

All 3 are decent players but none are out and out wingers or strikers, and I would say most of the three, if not all, are more suited to a No10 role. With Pedro and Rutter arguably better suited to that position, I think sadly a move away (at least in the short term) is probably best for Enciso. I hope he does well (as personally I'd like to see Ipswich stay up) but he like the others do appear to be at best bench players for us.

Yeah I have been saying for a few months now that Enciso needs to go to a club where it matters what he does. For us its "ok so he took a lot of shite decisions and we subbed him off for one of our other dozen attacking players and stayed midtable for the rest of our lives, the end", and people will praise him for all the useless shooting and dribbling since they didn't do us much damage in the end and made people "stand up in their seats".

In Ipswich its going to be different. He will learn positive and negative consequences from what he does. If he fucks up, they immediately get closer to relegation. If he does well, he's done real difference. Hopefully this increased level of importance will also lead to increased level of taking responsibility on the pitch and working hard for the team rather than mainly for himself.
Agree, he needs more jeopardy in his decision making and it won’t go down well if his awareness doesn’t improve

Agreed.

A spell at a smaller PL Club will do him good. Watching him hoof 8 attempts at goal when I saw him at Brentford in December, I thought then he was trying too hard to ‘compete for a place’ in a squad that’s top heavy in the MF/CAM areas - that can make a player selfish and careless. I’m not convinced Ipswich will stay up and I hope for Enciso’s sake the loan won’t be another Billy Gilmour situation when Tuchel loaned WBG to Norwich - Norwich fans vented disappointed at the ‘great white hope’ that was supposed to help them not get relegated and that really impacted on his self confidence. Although after speaking to Ipswich fans the other night, I have the impression they are more resigned than Norwich fans were at the time about surviving for another season in the PL (sadly).

I hope it goes well for him. There’s a potentially world class footballer in there (he’s still only 20) who’s been unfortunate that injuries have impacted his ability to affect games over the past couple of years.

This feels different to the Buonanotte loan though - it feels like more of a goodbye to me, although I do hope that’s not the case as I love a maverick footballer.

Agree with all this.

It just seems that Welbeck, Pedro and Rutter have to play as a No.9 and No.10 in the same match, consistently swapping positions to move the opposition defence around.

That’s just not a role the players you quote can perform at the level we need despite all having very high ceilings in particular roles.

I hope no ipswich fans see your 'smaller' there.

I agree, with the only change being that if he is indeed brilliant for Ipswich I would want him in our team ahead of many of the names you list above, and give him what he wants to do that. There aren't that many attacking players who are 'brilliant' in the Premier League.
