Nice to see you've completely changed from your original (full of "unnecessary rudeness") opinion now that you've seen the facts.
I do agree that he had a spell of great form between September and December 2021. That's a fact. Outside of that 3 month spell he's been in and out of the team, injury prone and unproductive. Even during his run of form you demonstrated, he helped himself to 2 assists. I don't think that's very good when you're playing for Arsenal.

If you actually did some simple research yourself (rather than asking others to do it for you), you'd see he was also heavily involved in the previous season and got more assists then.

Quite. I can't see how a bloke who has done so little in the past 3 years is worth anywhere near £30m. Especially when we already have players who play in his position.

Convinced the hype on this thread is from people just excited at being linked with a bloke they've heard of who plays for Arsenal

I didn't ask you to do anything. You did it yourself and then were only able to provide evidence he was a good for about 3 months, 3 years ago. I don't know what point you're trying to make to be honest, but the chip on your shoulder is showing.

That's exactly what it is. He wears number 10 for Arsenal, so naturally there are people desperate for the Albion to sign him as a statement. But the numbers aren't in his favour. We tried signing players based on old school scouting/managerial preference last season to placate De Zerbi and they were all dodgy signings we're now stuck with, apart from Fati because mercifully that was just a loan. An incredibly expensive loan - although I will concede he was excellent a couple of years ago!

I shouldn't worry too much about how good you think he is or isn't.

Tony's magic computer usually knows whether someone is:
a) good enough to improve us.
b) not above their true market value.
c) their fitness is good.

If we don't bid for ESR is because he doesn't tick one of the above.

You said "I'd be interested to see...." in response to some other stats posted on here. if you were that interested you could have found out the answer yourself very quickly.

No chip, just a distinct lack of patience for lazy people who post opinions as "facts" without actually bothering to check the facts first.

Go back and read your original sensationalist post. My response(s) were to that.

Apparently, Fulham are very close to beating Palace to the signing of Smith-Rowe for £35m.

I’m not sure if there was enough value for us to pursue this target. But we might have to pay that sort of money for Gruda.

Gruda would be more affordable from a wages perspective, I would imagine. Plus he hasn’t, from my limited knowledge, suffered from a long injury setback.

Plus Gruda has a higher ceiling.

ESR is not a bad player at all but certainly not one I’m bothered about us pursuing. In Enciso I believe we already have a better number 10 with the possibly of adding Grudu or another in that position too.

Do need a couple of players with 'English Tax' if we're going to aim to be in Europe regularly. But would hope our's will end up being academy players if possible.

If true, that'll be Fulham's first signing. Only another 4 needed to shore up and get a younger squad. I'm quietly dreading this season.
I do feel that you've perhaps exceeded expectations for the last couple of seasons, and I'm not convinced Marco Silva is that great a manager, so it'll be interesting to see how you get on this season. ESR sounds like a decent signing if you can keep him fit. But I wonder if you might find it more of a struggle than previous seasons.

Obviously we will give you six points to help you along your way.

We've also re-signed Ryan Sessignon #OneOfOurOwn on a free from Spuds. Another injury-prone Englishman from a north London club (although like ESR, actually from S London). I'm only hoping we get some fit foreigners in now to make it less of a struggle.

To be fair, you only gave us 4 points last season. But I'm still grateful.
