Following on from some of the disgruntled folk on the political threads recently and their wish to leave these shores, what country would you like to emigrate to and why, or are you happy with dear old Blighty.

I was going to buy a bar in Cyprus and emigrate in 1995 but being diagnosed with mouth cancer put the stop to that. At the time houses and businesses were very cheap with the C£ but now having joined the EU it has become very expensive. The house we were going to buy was C£7000 but is now priced at EU42,000

Just as Falmer is on the horizon? You must be joking. For all its failings, this country is still one of the best places to live and whoever is in charge at Westminster wont EVER change that.

SW France, assuming Dorset technically isn't emigrating.

I just love the air!. Dumb ass answer I know, but it just 'feels' good.

Plus I can cycle the Pyreneian (sp) peaks whenever I want.

Apart from the usual European countries that everyone has visited I really enjoyed South Africa when I was there for a couple of months a few years ago. Don`t know if I could have brought my children up with that threat of crime and violence though. The outdoor life is appealing to me.

Israel.

Great weather, westernized, good standard of living, fab food, friendly & gorgeous looking locals.

(just some dodgy neighbours, is stopping me emigrating there)

I hear they discriminate om immigrants on religious grounds.
