It wasn't dodgy.
They had a a camera angle nearly perfectly in line with the goal line, showing it was out.

Some of us have to win a few quid in order to afford match tickets, Harry!!! How the other half live.I don't think the rubric of the game should be structured for the benefit of the gambling community.
Does that definitely prove it’s out though? I’m still not convinced! That's the one.
you can't see all of the ball over all of the line?Does that definitely prove it’s out though? I’m still not convinced!
No, because you need the Bird’s Eye view.you can't see all of the ball over all of the line?
interesting.

...or have cameras in better positions which could accurately determine whether the ball is in or out.maybe we should go to square balls it would be easier to determine these situations.

I found the image posted on NSC twitter to be more convincing. Looking at Van Hecke's foot, it looks like it's the next frame on in the tweet:Does that definitely prove it’s out though? I’m still not convinced!
no let's go backwards .......or have cameras in better positions which could accurately determine whether the ball is in or out.
After tonight, I rest my case.I don't think the rubric of the game should be structured for the benefit of the gambling community.
All of that is good.Ange thinks VAR kills the spectacle, it’s not the football he loved. My thoughts exactly, I changed my mind.

All of that is good.
He's right, other managers and clubs that write statements should take note.
Watching var trying to call the offsides last night was laughable- camera never actually in line with the offside call, and taking an age while zooming in/out/in/out on various players with the picture becoming very grainy/fuzzy every time it was zoomed in (and the zooming in didn't seem to help, either) ... so laughably basic - why on earth are we not at least using the automated var offside checks they seem to use abroad?! PL is the richest league in the world, isn't it!I emailed PBOBE after the disallowed goal at Palace. I asked why the EPL do not insist where the cameras are positioned pitch side and how many. To cut a long response short, he said that due to the difference in stadiums this can't happen. I didn't bother replying as this is bollocks. All the stadiums have pitch long stands. Cameras could and should be placed along the full length of the pitch at intervals that give the best view of the goal line and also perhaps ones at running along the touchline.
Today cameras are small and should be easy to install either on the roof (Bournemouth for example) or on the second tier of the stand. There's no reason there can't be 200 plus cameras along the stand. This would allow the computer to easily use the best placed camera to use when determining offsides.
