Elphick to miss Amex kick off

Spun Cuppa

Thanks Greens :(
Tbf GG makes the other two look good. Put them together when GG is out and we look very shaky at the back. If at all possible, we need someone of GG's calibre to step in. Sol Campbell could do a job I would have thought ???

Great shame, he was unlucky not to be a regular at the start of the season and looks to be the same next. Great pro for us, get well soon.

We need to get a lot more physical to compete in the Championship. Time to let him go. Dunk is probably better already, El Abd partners well with Top Greer. Ship out Tommy and ship in a TRIED and TESTED Championship center half.

From what I have seen of Dunk and considering his age, I'm pretty sure he will become a regular next season

Interesting reading this artcle today

Albion need a centre-half From The Argus)

I am surprised that a new centreback wasn't already high on the agenda which seems to indicate that both Adam and Tommy are rated as potential starters alongside Gordon Greer in the Championship

I am shocked by this. There is a clear difference in ability between Greer and El-abd or Elphick. I think a Centre back is a major requirement for next season, preferably one who is pacey

As much as I like Elphick's passion and commitment, I think he flatters to deceive. He has never quite lived up to the rave reviews he got as a youngster. Admittedly, the stunning form of both Greer and El-Abd have made it very difficult for him in the season just gone, but I still don't feel comfortable with him being a starter for us in the Championship. I'd be happy for him to stay, providing he is just used as cover and we recruit a more capable player to sit ahead of him in the pecking order.

I'm shocked by how many people are prepared to write him off. He looked comfortable against Pompey & Watford, was ever present on the bench (ahead of Dunk) and obviously appreciated by Gus and Tanno. Get well soon Tommy.

his lack of composure on the ball just doesnt fit in with the way we play anymore - can easily see dunk overtaking him as that appears to be one of his strong points from the brief outings he has out, although i agree that we definitely need a new centre back for next season
