Standing in the Rain
Across the Border

Both from Out of the Blue but I don't think that either of them were singles

Very difficult to pick one over others, but if I really had to I would choose Mr Blue Sky because I have it as my feel good song.

This.

I remember Jeff Lynne being interviewed years ago talking about writing the song. He said it had been raining for ages and then suddenly the sun broke through and the sky turned blue. It inspired him to write the song and he banged it out in some ridiculously short time (can't remember how long). Always added a bit extra to the song for me, that image along with the words.

What a talented bloke he is. Can't believe that it's 47 years ago it was released. Mad.

If anyone’s interested this is a fine review of the great man’s Hyde Park show a few years back:

They never really registered much on my radar.
I had always assumed they were some kind of Supergroup, like the Travelling Wilburys, that got together for an album once in a while.
Were they actually a band in their own right?

Seem to remember one of the band members was the Uncle of Miles Hunt from the Wonderstuff.
