Two of the best nights at Withdean were Chesterfield and Swindon.
We stood (in D Block) throughout both games.
No attempt was made by the Stewards to make us sit.
Great atmosphere both nights.

Maybe its about time he started marketing some of the spare tickets towards youngsters/schools for a fiver at most to boost the atmosphere......The clubs record in the dept is pretty dismal....think they like playing to empty seats...

When we were at Leeds last year the stewards were making us sit down as they were being assessed. Other years they haven't bothered as far as I can recall.

They have done for a number of years as I used to organise trips through the club for the school I worked for. It was £6 per child plus a tenner for an accompanying adult. Whilst the club does all it can to market you still need people at the other end to take it up and that is where it generally falls down as it requires teachers to give up their Saturdays to run trips. I had no problem as I'd be at the game anyway but many others at the school, particularly PE departments who tended to liaise closest with the club, often had other activities the games competed with. On top of that many teachers have families of their own they wish to be with at weekends. Then there is the bureaucracy of running a trip, pupil to adult ratios, and on one occasion when I needed to get another adult to come with me I was told to find a woman teacher because a couple of girls wanted to come along.
If you are going to have a go at least know what you are talking about.

They definitely bothered in the 2-2 game up there a few seasons ago.
When I went up there last, probably 2 seasons ago? They didn't bother with us in those seats in the bottom that are bolted to the old terrace, because they are not really designed for people to sit in.
Has anyone been in that part ? it's impossible to get your seat if other people are in the row.

It's about time we all learnt to sing loudly irrespective of whether we are sitting down or standing up.

It's not, but it provides an excuse for not singing, and allows people that like to moan about the stewards something else to list as to why the stewards should let them stand.
they do occasionally try to get us to sit down, my season tickets are in n9 which is slightly to the leftof the goal - upper tier of the kop as you look from the pitch. but it's simple if you don't make eye contact with the stewards, and as soon as they step foot on the gangway to come up to try and get us to sit start up the stand up and sing for leeds type songs. though that is probably easier for us to do when there are over 7,000 of us all together - than in your smaller stands. maybe it will be different when you have falmer and there are bigger groups of you or something. i don't remember the last time my backside touched my seat - i don't know that it ever has. i am five rows from the back and the stewards when they try, never ever get as far up as us
