2. You insinuated that a lifelong friend of mine might be a dick
3. You’ve arrogantly refused to believe what several people have said (and the circumstances suggest) but have offered no counter evidence whatsoever
4. I remember a recent post of yours where you said “Ferguson having glandular fever was common knowledge” - why are you happy to believe those online “rumours” but not this about Barco?

If your mate was involved in any of the clobber young Barco was seen wearing during his time here I think it’s a valid assessment to be fair !
Haha - He provides services to several of the players (never described any other 19/20 year olds as “dicks”, quite the opposite) - not sure fashion consultancy is included!

There’s so much to unpack here.
1. Surely you can see my post was a) tongue in cheek, and b) trying to highlight that we shouldn’t be judging kids for being “dicks”?
On a broader note, there is part truth in the statement even though I meant it as a joke. Most peoples’ brains don’t fully develop until they’re >25 (I’m happy to be corrected by more ITK scientists). This means more of our bad decisions happen earlier in life, when we’re <25. As a trained teacher, and as someone who’s trained young people in my jobs’ since, I can attest to this point. Young people need guidance, and I’m surprised that a club like ours, which is apparently famed for bringing through young players, would so easily bin off someone of that talent because apparently he failed a NDP. That’s a really poor reflection on our club if so, and our ability to develop players.
He’s not Mason Greenbrook, for example, where there’s clear evidence of his poor character. And none of the evidence I’ve seen on here about Barco’s character has been anything other than hearsay (in fact, I’ve not seen anything other than “I know a guy who thought he was a bit of a dick”), and grown men speculating about him failing said NDP - acting like kids in the school ground, gossiping basically, which is dick-ish behaviour.
2. He may well be. He’s gossiping to you about a 19/20 year old kid. See the aforementioned point about how childish such behaviour is. Either way, I don’t know anything about your friend other than that he bad mouths 19/20 year olds and you’re spreading said rumours on a football forum..
3. Arrogantly? See the above points. Where is the evidence?
As to your latter point, I don’t need to prove he’s not a dick. There’s been no evidence that he’s a rapist, abusing staff, being violent or anything that crosses a line. So why would I need to prove he’s not a dick? Honestly, this is a really weird point you’ve tried to make.
4. You’ve nearly got me, but believing someone’s had injury problems is not the same as assassinating someone’s character. You’re right, I don’t know the inner details of Ferguson’s injuries. But we all know he’s had physical problems - the kid’s performances fell of a cliff very quickly. In contrast, no one seems to have come up with anything concrete about why Barco is a bad egg other than that a) they met a guy who doesn’t like him and b) the club have sold him.
So here’s the kicker, I was defending a young kid for his perceived poorer performances and said I was willing to give him time because of the rumored injuries. In contrast, you and others are assassinating Barco’s character without really providing concrete evidence about why the rest of us should be behind said assassination. If something comes out that’s pretty concrete, like it has with Greenwood, like it has with people like Trump, then so be it. But otherwise I’ll be sticking on the fence rather than digging into a kid I don’t know, who moved to a new country at a young age, when he didn’t know the language.
And if you think I’m a dick considering all of the above, then so be it. It says more about you than it does about me, quite frankly.

I come from a transitional era where when we started going clubbing it was shoes and shirts or you’re not getting in, whereas at the end of my time everything (except shorts and vests) was acceptable
No idea if shorts and vests are now allowed in the uk clubs today but frankly don’t want to find out either!
In summary:
It’s fine for you to spread rumours about the health of one of our current players but it’s not OK for me to comment on the attitude of one of our former players. Noted.
To clarify, my mate just called him “very arrogant”. I made the link with the NDP based on that.
