Elder has signed for Brentford for £35k.

SMS from club: Nathan Elder has signed for Brentford in a £35k deal; the Bees beat off interest from Wycombe Wanderers to land the striker.

I can't believe we managed to get £35k for a player who has mainly been a reserve or sub for his whole professional career.

A good move for Elder, he needs a good run of games, something we couldn't offer him.

Great business yet again by the club - so we are now selling players that either cost nothing or only £8K.

Falmer black hole anyone

I'm sure he will do well at Brentford, and to be fair he deserves a bit of real first team football.

This is a great chance for him, and I wish him all the best!

I bet he drifts back into non-league football. 35K is a fantastic bit of business because I'm sure he would have been released in the summer.

All we need now is someone to pay money for Gatting and Mayo.

I think BH meant we are starting to fill the black hole with transfer monies received...

or there again maybe not

Whatever he meant, where exactly was the black hole? Everybody knows where the money was spent on Falmer (public enquiries, obscenely expensive legal counsel etc), so he's just shit-stirring again that there was even a black hole.

I work with a Brentford STH, and described Elder to him as "a poor mans Adie Akinbiyi"

He seemed pleased enough with that.
