Ha! I read this post on another thread, literally about 20 minutes ago, and almost posted that I knew the phrase as "dull as ditchwater"!

The reason I decided not to make that post is because it seems "dull as dishwater" has certainly come into (more) common parlance, even if it wasn't the original saying.

I never miss the podcast but couldn't face the thought of listening to Palace fan Kevin Day gloating.

Can someone tell me it wasn't mentioned and it's safe to listen to.

Day did make reference to it (sometimes obliquely) on a number of occasions. It was somewhat tiresome, but then what else does a Palace fan have going for them at the moment?
