Soon happening in a Super Cup near you I imagine...

Tbf Spain "only" started with this Supercopa nonsense in SA in 2020 when they've changed format to Final Four (best two teams from the league and Copa finalists). Before that they were playing home and away games between La Liga and Copa del Rey champions.

OTOH Supercoppa Italiana has been played almost regularly abroad since 2009. First in China and then Qatar and Saudi. Similar with Trophee des Champions (French version of Super cup) which has been moved all over the world from Canada to China, Austria, Israel and Gabon (yes, I was surprised too when I saw that) in last 15 years.

I don't see DFL-Supercup ever being played outside of Germany but we'll see how long the FA will resist before playing Community shield abroad. I think it's inevitable and will happen in next 5-10 years.

It was a sour end to the Spanish Supercup semi-final between Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca, and if fans of Los Bermellones may not have been in the best of moods, their frustration was prolonged at the final whistle.

As they exited the stadium, the family members of the Mallorca team, who were not separated from the fans nor afforded security to their bus, were faced with a group of local Real Madrid fans. Cristina Palavra, wife of Mallorca veteran Dani Rodriguez, confirmed that she was OK to Esport IB3, but explained that she, Dominik Greif’s wife and others were harassed on their exit from the stadium, despite the presence of their young children.

However Pere confirmed that the female members of their cohort had suffered harassment too – ‘they were touched, they had people taking photos without their consent… It’s very serious’.

The indignation at Real Mallorca is maximum after what happened at the end of the Spanish Super Cup match against Real Madrid. At this time, the entity is collecting evidence between videos and images provided by displaced fans and the local press to facilitate the identification of the aggressors who, after finishing the match, carried out "touches", as confirmed by relatives of the players to MARCA.

“People touched the bottoms of the footballers' relatives,” Mallorca fans told this newspaper, before taking the return flight. “We are not going to return in life,” they say. “It is incredible that there was no security. It was embarrassing and we felt like we had no one to lean on. “We were alone in the face of danger,” they continue.
