Real Madrid look a much more composed team when Luka Modric is in the team. In the same way that Manchester United have picked up in the past couple of matches since Michael Carrick returned from injury. Both are players who are very assured on the ball and make good use of possession when building attacks. No coincidence that Real's mini slump in form was predominantly at a time when Modric was on the sidelines injured.
