I would argue that El Abd has enjoyed more that one good season. From the November onwards of the 2009/10 he was immense (basically co-inciding with Poyet's arrival). He was also very good when we were in the Championship, considering he was in his second year as a first-team player and was thrown in at the deep end.
Although, I agree with the drift - he has only had one season where he has been consistently solid for the entire season.
Out of the two, I would prefer Adam El Abd. Poyet clearly loves him, and he is a nice bloke too.
