John Terry wasn’t the quickest but one of the best centre backs there has been in the PL.
Certainly the greatest there has ever been inside his own head.

'Morning all - Ram in peace here.

The word locally is that Cashin is having a medical down your way this morning. The deal is rumoured to be £9.5M + add-ons, resale % etc.

If correct, I think most Rams will be OK with that. It'll be the first decent fee we've received for one of our Academy graduates since the whole financial meltdown days - the list of players we were forced to sell or had filched for nothing because we weren't allowed to extend their contracts or offer professional terms to 17 year olds makes painful reading for us fans. Now, if the hierarchy use the money well, we might be able to save our season and start to build again.

Eiran will leave us with the best wishes of all but a bitter few of us. He's been immense, an absolute inspiration at such a young age. We'll all watch closely to see how his career progresses from here. His ability is unquestionable, but it's the pace of the PL which we fear he might struggle with. He's a fast learner though, so hopefully he'll find a way to adapt.

I think most of us would agree that he's most comfortable in a 2. He often looks exposed on the left of a 3. And he's no LB or LWB.

Treat him well and he won't let you down - just don't loan him back to one of our relegation rivals this season, eh?!

Good luck for the rest of the season.
Thanks for this! Our data super computer seems to not bother including “pace”

I can think of plenty of better centre backs.

In the brutal world of PL football Cashin will be target number one for the numerous wily physical opposition strikers we'll come up against

He'll be targeted in the air, he'll be targeted in behind, he'll be pressed more than any other player in our team. What a test of character for the lad. It will be a test of his strength, skill, his mindset and his ability to adapt.

An assured start would be massive for him. A shaky one, would be a big problem. We'll need to get behind him.

A short slow central defender, fantastic!
A young player who will be prepared to come into the club, work hard and try to prove he is Premier League quality and isn't costing a fortune.
If he was foreign with a flair name and a sexy YouTube highlights package from Italy, France or Spain we would all be salivating.

Let's hope he needs an interpreter for his man of the match interviews. It will make him look even more mysterious and exciting.

Welcome Eiranio Cashinio from AC Derbinio, our new no nonsense u21international defender.

Yes there are taller centre backs than him. But he's the same height as Joel Veltman. Taller than Guehi. Taller than Thiago Silva. And within a centimetre of players like Gvardiol and Romero. People are acting like you're going to need binoculars to see him!
