Good draw. We should progress if put out a strong line-up of our usual bench plus couple starters who need time and couple prospects.

Away and close by so very happy.

More money to be made in 3rd round too if we take this seriously (can still rest who needs a rest).

*Bristol Rovers' match against Cardiff City on Thursday will affect the draw seedings. If Cardiff win, they will be seeded and will visit Scunthorpe United, with Bristol City going to Chelsea. If Bristol Rovers win, they will be unseeded and will be away to Chelsea, with Bristol City away to Scunthorpe.

Funky. C'mon Rovers. send City to Scunthorpe

Really annoying. Oxford is a close one for me and we went up for the Friendly with some family friends.

if it is on 23rd then it is my wedding anniversary and I have making up to do after going on the lash at the Ashes on it last year

Take her for lunch and a day out in Oxford, then tickets for the match in the evening. Marriage is all about compromise and sharing.

Yes, this is for me a good draw, but from a slightly different angle, to which you do also allude. As there no loans, and given that we might suffer the same awful luck again with injuries (though unlikely), then we have to give the younger lads at the back game time. With every respect to Oxford, this has to be initially against lower league teams, because if they get swamped playing Championship teams, then this will inevitably affect their confidence. If we get through, and by all means put the heavies on the bench, as this week, then they may well get another game, or if it is against a PL team, and the first team is put out, then great for all concerned. At this early stage in the season, the more matches the merrier, though there is obviously an increased risk of injury, which has to be factored in.

Will be trickier than the pre-season friendly, they just beat Birmingham which was a good result for them.
