Not a great source, as was in the 'rumours' site, but there's a bit more about this one that looks like it could be plausible. Finnish, has the right physical attributes, can head a ball and a great left foot. Right age too.

Please keep this crap to the football rumours thread. It's tiresome reading this drivel.

It's quite exciting to see an unknown foreign name standing solo in a thread title. Then comes the mention of 'Football Rumours' and the sense of expectation explodes in to a sinking cloud of depressive nausea.

If you read a post on football rumours there is a 5,000 to 1 chance it is accurate in some way.

Brighton - In your face
MADRID. For two and a half years ago, he was overweight and unmotivated.
Now, Eero Markkanen recruited from AIK to Real Madrid - 20 million.
Their plan: That he will play in the first team.
Last night took 23-year-old his first steps on the way there.
- It is very, very important to start well. Otherwise, people start picking on you, says Markkanen to SPORT-Expressen after an impressive debut in the B team Castilla.

So ...... who the **** believes these stories?

A loan is actually possible. Real Madrid can't lift Eero Markkanen up to the first team in 2014, because he's 23 years old (he would have to be registered for the first team in order for that to be possible). So he's in the second team RM Castilla, and they're playing in the Spanish third league. That's not a good level for a player of Markkanen's talent level. He would do well in the Championship, and in the national team he's an up and comer which might increase Hyypiä's interest.

He has potential to be a world class player and getting him on loan would be a jackpot. It's very unlikely, since he just completed his Real Madrid move about a week ago, and has probably moved to Spain. Zidane set his eyes on Markkanen personally and probably wants to watch him from close distance this year. They probably want to teach him the Real Madrid game before possibly giving him some minutes in the first team in 2015. This is the only good thing about playing in the Spanish "League 1". But if there's a chance to get him on loan, Brighton should use it
