I give up. How do you do it. Editing thread text is OK, but I cant see how to edit the title. Am I being thick here.?

I believe that is something only mods or those who have paid for upgraded NSC accounts can do. Might be wrong though!
Yes, this.

While there are no hard and fast rules, if you want a thread title edited and there is a good reason, ask a mod.

If you've made such a typo or cock up that there are lots of posts on the thread joking about it, we probably won't, as it will make half the thread irrelevant.

If you've deliberately mis-titled something for attention or clickbait there's a good chance we'll change it ourselves.

As opposed to what exactly?
Some folk make puns or alike l, based upon the typo.
Should the typo be corrected, those posts will seem odd and out of place. Yet they WERE pertinent prior to the adjustment, the comments being made innocently and with good intentions

The cycling v cars ones, where the rate of irrelevance is usually around 99%.
There are no cycling v cars threads.

There's usually a thread where car drivers have killed.
Then someone posts a link to a cyclist not killing someone and everyone is happy.
