That would never happen, our ball boys and ball girls are far too efficient Balls perfectly lobbed to the opponents hands. Infact too damn efficient some times! lol

I'm just waiting for the opposition players to run onto the Amex Stadium signs on the edge of the pitch, and fall arse over tit on them and do themselves a mischief!

Looking at the video of the incident, surely if the ballboy is time-wasting shouldn't the ref. add on the time? And Hazard should have resisted in kicking out full stop! I think this incident is going to run and run!

Does no-one remember the antics of out ball boys at Withdean? I'm certain I remember one game where the ref stopped us playing multi-ball as we were using it to slow the match down. Every time the ball went out for an opposition throw we'd throw two balls back on the pitch (or similar).

Anyone else remember that or have I been eating too many spicy noodles?

Anyone Remember many years ago at the goldstone when The head 'ball boy' was 38+ year old called Keith Kuss. right near the end of the game, the ball bounced towards him at the east stand touchline, Instead of grabbing the ball.
He headed it backwards into the crowd...And as a result, The Referee actually sent him off..LOL.

Anyway, My point being that it's down to the officials to sort out this time wasting, not a frustrated player physically assaulting him..

God, I remember that incident very well...wasn't his "head ball-boy" career over as well...

i recall the ballboys rolling the ball through the puddles on the longjump to opposition

Ive never seen a ball boy cheat or be part of cheating so blatantly and for so long as that. I hope it isnt the start of yet anothe type of cheating (legit gamesmanship to idiots).

At Stoke the ball boys would dry the ball for Rory Delap when he took a throw in....oddly, they did not dry the ball for any opposition player to take a throw in.

This for me is the crucial point in this.

Whatever the rights or wrongs (IMO he is certainly in the wrong for the blatant timewasting) on the part of the ballboy, the moment Hazard stuck his boot in changed the complexion of the incident. Whether his foot/leg made contact with the ball, the ballboy or both, from where the officials viewed the incident (assuming they have no access to replays for something like this) Hazard was aiming a kick in the direction of the ballboy, and therefore was deemed to be violent conduct no matter what Hazard's intentions to retrieve the ball were.

It's a heat of the moment decision that has cost him a suspension. Do I have some sympathy with him? Yes-he should never have been in the position whereby he had to deal with such gamesmanship from a fricking ball boy, however sticking his foot in whatever intentions he had was wrong, and he has paid the priced for that.

In hindshight, it should have been left by Hazard to the match officials to sort during the game, and the ballboys superiors to hand out disciplinary action (if they chose to do so at all) in light of the incident after the game had finished.

1) Ball boy seems like a bit of a tosser to me. Time wasting blatantly.
2) Hazard should not have tried to prise the ball out from under him, but you can understand why he did it - its not like he launched in with a kung fu kick, was it ? Also, I ve only seen one distant view of it, and to me it looks like he's prised the ball away with his foot, and run back to restart..... ANyway - its hardly the worst thing Ive seen happen THIS week, never mind in football in general.

Part of me just wants to say - Oh FFS! You had it coming you little cheat. (and I was rooting for Swansea tonight!)

Just looks to me like he's kicked the ball out from under him, I question whether any body contact was ever even made. If a Brighton ball boy acted in that contemptible manner then I'd be down by the touchlines queuing up to give him a swift kick as well.

It would take you quite a while to get to the touchline after hearing the incident over the radio, travelling to the Amex and somehow negotiating getting in wouldn't it? :boom boom:

Anyway, surely if this had happened at Brighton, as the ball boy was time wasting we'd all be pointing and laughing our heads off, then when opposition player manhandles him we'd all be jumping up and down shouting 'Off Off Off Off' and cheering loudly when he does go. Regardless of what was the right thing to do.

Then, the normal ones amongst us at full time would go home, have a bit of a laugh about it and have a cup of tea.
