Well done to Ed on his new deal.
Is there a chance here that he'll be in the squad as a 5th centre back if Colwill or any other rumoured signings don't come off?

Good news, I am not sure how many actual Sussex boys have come through in recent years but this one sounds like a great prospect
He's a left-footer, so not a ridiculous idea - far better to get another season's game time under his belt though, IMHO. Orient again, now that they've got promoted - or maybe somewhere completely different to broaden his experience. Could he hack the Championship yet?
TURNS JOINS CREWE ON LOAN
Ed Turns has been recalled from his loan with Leyton Orient and will spend the second half of the campaign with League Two Crewe.
The centre-back made 17 appearances in all competitions this season for Orient, having helped them to promotion during the second half of last season.
Pathway development manager Gordon Greer said, “Ed enjoyed a really good 2023 with Leyton Orient, playing his part in their promotion, but he hasn’t featured in recent months.
“At Ed’s stage in his career, it’s important that he’s playing regular first team football and we hope to see him get that with Crewe. We will monitor his progress closely.”
Turns progressed through the Albion academy having joined as a 14-year-old, going onto make his first team debut for us in an EFL Cup win over Swansea City in September 2021.

We are clearing out a few.
Not so much in his second stint (when they were in League 1) - or at least, the manager wasn't so keen, and he spent the second half of the season at Crewe. He's 22, and out of contract in the summer, so this move not unexpected. Reckon he'll do fine at League 1 level - good luck to him, he was excellent for us in PL2.
P.S. Time to change the thread title, anyone?
