Yep, when the drivers went wheel to wheel knowing any mistake could cost them their lives but still did it anyway.

Yes as there cars where made crap, hence lawsuits that followed and pro racers at the time including senna demanding changes, so basically you watched it to see people get hurt.

You can put words in my mouth all you want, doesn't change the fact that it was far more exciting back then.

It wasn't though was it unless you want to see people die or be seriously injured.

Well you obviously know my mind better than I do to keep telling me why I thought it was more exciting.

I've loved motor racing since I was about 5 (1973) and can't ever remember wanting to see drivers killed, maimed or burnt. It just was one of the dangers.

I reckon a lot of F1 fans would agree with my statement that F1 is the best it has been for years and not just say 'Rubbish'.

Ah, but that's not what you said though, had you had said it's the best it's been for years I would have wholeheartedly agreed, you said it was the best it's ever been, that statement deserves a good sound "rubbish".

I agree with you. F1 is excellent at the moment, better than it has been in years, but to say best ever, is certainly debatable.

The amazing GP2 sprint race in Valencia last weekend reminded me of how good old F1 could be in many ways. None of the DRS/KERS stuff but brilliant wheel to wheel racing.

I'm not anti-DRS/KERS btw, but this.. was brilliant..
