I will sound like a grump but I wish one year the world would take a break from all this nonsense. No fanfare, no announcing just a collective zeitgeist of “oh let’s just not bother”.

I’ve found this festive season arduous and irritating. Let’s all take a year off. Perhaps have a couple of extra bank holidays to compensate. Time that we can have time with friends and family without all the whistles and bells.

But it’s probably just me.

No, no it's not . I for one feel exactly the same , having said that , it could be an age thing as I'm rapidly heading towards 60 !!

Good to see they have got rid of the excessive packaging this year .........................oh

"We're doing all we can to reduce plastic packaging and waste..." says every big food company and major supermarket, whilst actually doing the sum total of fvck all. I really find it infuriating

Easter is 12th April. That’s well over three months away. I’m sure Christmas stuff doesn’t go on sale as early as September. But maybe if does.

Our post office had Christmas cards on sale in August.

Other countries seem to cope without anywhere near as much commercialism and nowhere near as early as we start being inundated with all the tat and gimmicky shit. It's one thing that frustrates me most about this country - we're ruled by the big supermarkets and so many people are sold by it all. They wouldn't start so early if idiots didn't lap it up.
