And who gave you the right to decide that "fans" sing? Fans can do what they want. If you want to drink several pints pre-match and then slump in a seat, you carry on. If you want to have 3 pies per match and not care who knows it, you carry on. If you want to sing the words to GOSBTS then you do, and you can sing with me. If you don't, you don't have to.

I object to someone telling someone else how to support the club. It is all subjective.
*Sigh* No one gave me the 'right' I was simply pointing out an entomological fact about the word 'fan'. Nothing to do with pies or beer, and nothing either really about 'supporting' the club which as you say is subjective. After all you can 'support' the club by buying a ST but then never actually going to a single match.

Brighton factually.....
must admit I have only been seated in the East stand once and I think I will have to think long and hard if that is the only seat available again, It was to quiet for me. As others have said a few people tried to sing, however the looks they got are of complete shock. If you look at the majority of people in the East stand it mainly consisted of either familys or older people who watch football in a different way. What some people dont understand and make rash comments about no passion is maybe just maybe these fans have done all they singing and have shown more passion at the Goldstone or Gillingham than they can remember I know I have and sometimes I just want to watch the game. The youngsters with their parents will also be future noise at the Albion, and I certainly dont need to stand up to show everyone how much I hate Palace.

One last thing is when the corners are complete this may well help the singing with a continuation of the noise around the stadium.
