Ah a true sign the season is almost upon us with a welcome return of the my stand is better than your stand mass debate. I'm quite happy in the family stand with my nippers, ok it is never the loudest or most vocal but it had its moments last season and it's great to hear the wall of noise coming from the north stand boys and girls when they get going. I read all the time about the west stand being a heroic mass of sound but the acoustics there must rebound it all off the roof and straight back down again because I really can only recall a handful of times when I was truly impressed by the noise coming from the other side. The north stand noise carries over quite nicely however.

ESU, Block B, Row H right here!

I'm going to take a measured approach. If I'm surrounded the quiet types I'll keep the noise down. Hopefully though, given the proximity of block B to the North stand we'll catch the noisy bastard bug :)

I think I'll do the same. Cant remember my row or block but I think I'm in that little side bit that looks like it's own little private box above the disabled platform towards the North end side of the ESU..............if that makes sense.

That might change now with the development in the East stand. I'm not an acoustics expert, but I'd imagine having a lot of the gaps closed up in the stadium would mean less room for the sound to escape. I await correcting on this, though...

I think it will be similar to ESL tbh - mix of people, young and old, some loud, some quiet. I'm not a moaner, bit of a singer if those around me are singing, but more a leap-out-of-seat-to-swear-at-ref type (I have to be careful on that score tho, as I'm in row A!).

Surely now we can go round the whole ground - start with North, then West, then South, then East.... and back to North.

I can see the new SW corner getting confused.

It'll be like the 'we're the right side... we're the left side...' chant, when yer standing in the middle.

Rather than North singing, then East and West singing together because we were unsure who was next...

This but really hoping for more atmos!
Last year, was surrounded by OAPs who were Spurs supporters, old men who wouldn't say boo to a goose and the odd child, so had to watch language... not easy when you're trying to cast doubts over the ref's parentage... :)

Though i loved the atmosphere in the North, i jumped at the chance to move to the upper east. One of the reasons was as i was sat in the 2nd row from the front and spent most of the time watching the sides of the idiots faces in front of me turning west to east singing "we're the north stand Brighton boys" cupping their ears waiting for the response. So Upper east it is for this season for me and my 2 lads, above the away support. Atmosphere is an important to me, but i come to watch the Albion, not people watching other people.
