There you go, a nice positive thread on NSC, you can guarantee the very first reply will be a negative one :nono:

Just far enough away from LDC
We eat in there before the game on saturday (my Wife's birthday) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. People may say its soulless but surely that's governed by who you are with rather than the surroundings?

Food was good - decent quantities and a nice balance of standard (steak, fish and chips, burger) and some other items such as thai crab cakes. The desserts (like in the 1901/boxes) were really good. The treacle tart is not at all like the sickly stuff you had at school. I could have got all Greg Wallace over them.

I know some wrote early on that the quantities of chips for example were poor, but on saturday if you ordered chips with your food then you got a decent plateful.

It is slightly overpriced if compared to a pub food (which is what it is akin to) however when compared to similar priced meals at say the greyhounds tehn it is head and shoulders better than that.

My boys had a good time too - we had a seat near two tv screens so they could watch the West ham game on one tv and then our own match build up on the other.

Got in there are 12.30 and after a three course meal we left at 2.40. If going for the 1.00 sitting then might need to settle for 2 courses.

I would certainly use it again.

Went in there after the game on Saturday and yes there was a queue for the bar 6 or 7 deep but once we for there, got the beers and walked up towards the back we soon got a table and watched the first half I the brum/saints game and listened to the interviews etc but most of all got the feeling back I my toes! I could not believe how long they were queuing to get out of that car park! I usually get a coach home but forgot to book it in time, finished my pint, straight on a train (seated) back to Brighton! So much better than earlier in the season, the Leeds game nearly put me off trains for life!

I sat in the Brassiere watching that queue thinking why on earth, after 6 months of football, and paying for the best facilities in the stadium, the 1901'ers still sit in their cars for an hour getting out of the car park.

Just have a cup of tea, a chat and a sit down for goodness sake, it can't be that difficult on a Saturday afternoon.

Totally agree with the trains, definitely working a lot better than the autumn.
