Got our alotted table, scoffed the duck starters, steak and ale suet pudding and strawberry mousse thing, all washed down with copious LAGER whilst chatting and having half an eye on the Newcastle game (service superb, very attentive, additional drinks arriving within 2 minutes of ordering).

2.50, minced down to our seats outside, after leaving an order for our half time drinks.

Half time arrives, go inside, beer is ready and waiting on our table along with stilton, cheddar and brie with crackers.

Back out for the 2nd half. Forest duley twatted.

Back inside at the final whistle. More beer waiting on our table, with cheese and COOKIES.

Seriously - whats NOT to like ?

Really ! I was in east stand 1901 yesterday too, and while pre match it was nice with the food & drink etc, I found the actual match time experience very sanitised.
A polite ripple of applause isn't really my bag, but it's horses for courses and once in a while it's a pleasant change I suppose.
Mind you I am being wined and dined in a private box for the Burnley game, I wonder what that will be like.

We got sent round there after the match as our lounge was having Christmas do in it. I must admit I thought we'd be like UN envoys feeding the needy with food etc. But was quite impressed, pitch facing lounge, quite roomy. View of pitch no where near as good though.

One of the boxes at St. Pauli in Hamburg had a pole fitted for ladies to dance on. This is a progression in my book.

Sounds like you had a ball yesterday.

Good on yer, Dave.

I finally got round to having a balti pie yesterday. Not bad - need a bit more pep to them, I fancy.

The view of the west stand from over there is amazing, we went round after too, I'd love to see that stand during a game, must make the east standers hairs stand up on the back of their necks.

Totally agree - Im normally 1901 West Stand, but took my godson to his first game yesterday and booked East Stand up for lunch - the food is really top notch and service second to none - they even arranged a birthday cake for him - and all the waiters formed an impromptu choir to sing happy birthday - would definately recommend the East restaurant to anyone
