Great - a thread on early leavers. Thought that this was a dinosaur topic but evidently not.
Very few in East Stand left before pen. I left when the winner was scored and got on Mill Road bus within 2 minutes; there were a lot fewer early leavers than from Spurs game.
If people have lives that require them to be home early, that is up to them. It is not up to others to judge or poke fun.

As has been suggested before, have a £2.75 ‘late entry’ ticket to the stadium for those happy to wait on the concourse until the early exodus starts, those punters then take the early leavers seats as they start vacating. A win-win all round and it doesn’t look quite so embarrassing on TV, as it so often does. Dress it up how you like, but we definitely have the greatest early exodus ‘problem’ of all PL clubs.
Is this because we have the greates ‘shit transport situation’ of any club? Its not too bad getting there as there’s a 3 hr window, but getting out aint fun via train for sure!

That's a bunch of arse though and far more of a perception than reality. I've got 3 or 4 decent options to get to and from the Amex, they all result in met getting home around 6pm on a normal Saturday matchday. I don't do all the away games, but on those I have done (about half in a typical season) I can't think of many that are better (including in the championship). The best was probably somewhere like Saints, but only because I parked a 30 min walk away the other side of the river. Some are massively worse (Spurs, Man U, Bournemouth and Reading spring to mind immediately)
I reckon the vast majority of early leavers must be those that don't go to games anywhere else and think the Amex travel is bad/difficult. It really isn't - but if they value being at home 30-60 mins earlier over missing 5-10 mins of (potentially match-changing) football that's up to them innit - lots will have their reasons.

Utter bobbins. I left on the final whistle on Saturday, and was on a train back to Brighton at 5.10. If I'd got a scuttle on, I might even have made the one before it. Its a perpetual myth that the Amex is terrible to get away from.
By many accounts, getting away from Villa Park last week after the game was a proper chore.

Exactly this, there is nothing wrong with getting to and from the Amex by public transport and it compares pretty favourably with other PL clubs:
Villa Park: awful last week, took 90 minutes to get back a train back to New Street, but never had any major problems before
Liverpool, Everton, Man United: long queues for buses, trains or trams back to the city centre
Leicester, Watford, Man City, Southampton, Bournemouth, Spurs: longish walks back to train/tube station (yes Spurs have nearer options, but then long queues)
Palace: kettled and then slow march (although tolerable if we've won)
Burnley: need to catch about 12 trains to get anywhere close to 2019
Never had any problems at the others. Newcastle, Norwich, Wolves, Sheff Utd all pretty close to main station, Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham seem to have plenty of of tube/train options.
Walking to and fro is great, obviously dependant in how far you want to walk. I don’t like the trains. Bike or scooter is great too.
St Mary's looked pretty empty for most of the 2nd half on Friday evening. However, I was very impressed with Norwich fans staying to the end despite being thrashed by Aston Villa.
