that is right

that is why real NFL fans in the US tend to stick by their teams

They dont move , the franchise is relocated to another part of the US because the new owners are richer.

I remember watching the B52s being totally trounced by some US college team around the early / mid 80s.

If memory serves me correct a couple of the US players were accused of rape as well from some incident the night before.

we lost 76-0 , not surprising really as college players are picked for their sporting abilities rather than educational prowess. Plus the fact they have been playing the game since the age of 4 or 5. The attendance was estimated to be in excess of 12,500.

12,500 at Withdean ?

I am sure you had to buy a ticket to watch (nothing new there)

I remember being at a B52s game where we beat an American lower college team. The owner i think came on at the end and said history had been made as it was the first time that had happened.

I seem to recall the 12k attendance was on the sam day as the Albion played and was markedly higher !!

Eagles QB sacked and ball turned over - Arizona are in the Super Bowl barring a miracle.

Maybe a potential turnaround 19 - 24 to Arizona and 4th quarter just started.

Amazing TD by the Eagles, superb long throw and a near fumble but taken over.

Great come back and Eagles go for the 2 points but failed so a lead of 1 point.

No , there were turnstiles and it was pay on the gate for this game. The reason so many turned up was because it was advertised in the American Football magazines and monthly newspaper (Quarterback) along with marketing from other teams in the Budweiser League. This was the season that we won the National title with a record of 8-0 (which meant 16 wins in a row , no losses if you include the previous season as well) The game against City College San Francisco (The Rams) was played on Sunday 12th December 1985 with a midday kick off. Where the South Stand is now was a grass bank which was packed with people standing up , I knew it was a large crowd as most of the regular season games were played in front of about 2,000. The Evening Argus and other media sources reported the official attendance as 12,500+ . The return visit game was played on 6th October 1986 at Candlestick Park , San Francisco.

Looks like the Eagles are making a great comeback - as the Giants have been knocked out I’m pretty much neutral now. Just looking forward to the Superbowl parties in a fortnight where the Yanks do the three things they’re best at - eating, drinking and talking bollocks. Woohoo !

It was the first time an American football team had played an opponent in American football comprised entirely of English players (although I think the Jasicki brothers held dual nationality). It was also the first time a Collgiate team had competed in England. I think that the Albion played the day before and there was only a 10,000 crowd at the Goldstone.
