Harmless enough ad I suppose, but then I've still not even seen the John Lewis one right the way through as I tend to flick. But I do find it ASTONISHING that people actually go out and buy cuddly toys that feature in these ads. Some daft old bint at work came in with a stuffed toy of that dragon thing and she was genuinely pleased as punch. I just don't really get it.

And why do so many people actually seem to give a shit about the Coke ads ?

This was a big deal mate, maybe one of the greatest to take on et and elliott one of the most iconic partnerships in fiilm history and taking on a sequel even spielberg did not do and they did it magnificently. They could have got it so wrong and they got it so right. It is about as good a 2 minute tribute to the film they could have possibly done with great reverance. A little masterperice this is

I think maybe they should just leave well alone, rather than using it to hawk Sky subscriptions.

I do agree. I don't like adverts around I film a treasure but on this occassion I think they did a superb job. As I said the BT adverts I thought were cheap but sky really stepped up to the plate with this one to deliver a superb memory and honour of the original film and actually reunited henry thomas and et. For me this advert is wonderful
