It's odd that when Robbo was touting Nash for England in the argus last week he was praising his bowling as well as his batting, yet we hardly seem to bowl him.

Surely that is time at the bar for Gatting and professional sport.

He's signe a new deal and avaeraged over 50 in the Championship last season. Maybe he shouldn't be dicked around and put in and out of the team and given a proper extended run.

That.

Give the lad a proper run. The latter part of this season, and the constant pointless persistence with aMurray was a huge wasted opportunity in that respect.

He did average 40 something in the Championship last year, but only player in 6 games, so not a true reflection.

This season he has not show any consistency in the longer format and at some point the club need to cut their loses.

You have to remember we have a fairly brittle batting line up and Gatting is not getting a game amongst this.

We've built up an unassailable lead so it's only fair that we THROW our wickets away.

But how many CC games has he actually had this year? 3 or 4, weeks apart? He's been playing short-form stuff, coming in at 6 with a handful of overs to go, with no opportunity to do anything other than throw the bat. Then after weeks out he's thrown into that 'brittle' line up, and expected to perform. Difficult, I think.

Yep.

He needs an extended run, up the order, in all formats.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
If we got rid of everyone who has underperformed this year, would we have many left - especially batsmen?

Quite agree.

All about the need for a consistent run.

But he has to take his chances and he is not.
